But he will love you for this awesome navigation system. It is not just for your car, but it is made to go wherever you do! So lets say you are on vacation to a city that you are unfamiliar with. 2 Cold Weather Must Haves for Your Jeep!
Yes, it's true that winter is just ending - but it's also the perfect time to remember a couple of things about winter that will make it all the easier to see how perfect to accessories are for your Jeep to make the winter a little less cold and easier to deal with - especially on those blustery, snowy mornings you have to go to work. Must have number one is a seat warmer. This is definitely a must have for cold weather. Imagine being able to get in your Jeep and feel warm all throughout your body. The seat warmer is made just for your Jeep and carries the Mopar warranty. In each seat warmer kit there are two heater elements (right and left), a switch for each heater element and the "Plug and Play" wiring for this heater kit along with the detailed installation instructions makes installing your seat heaters a breeze. The next must have for your Jeep is a remote starter. This not only comes in handy in the winter time when you may not necessarily relish the idea of walking out in blowing snow to start your Jeep and go to work, you can have your vehicle started, warmed up and if you leave your seat warmers on, you will be able to get into a nice toasty Jeep to start your day. A great alternative to getting in a cold vehicle! You can be as far away from your vehicle as 800-feet and still be able to start your Jeep with the touch of a button. Another plus is in the summer months, you can have your car started and the air conditioner cracking before you ever set foot in your vehicle. And those are the two top must have's for your Jeep - if you haven't already added them to your lifestyle, well what are you waiting for? Labels: accessories, interior, jeep, jeeps, security, travel

Keep Your Carpets Looking New!
You bought a Jeep because you were making an investment in your vehicle. You wanted something that would not only be good for daily driving but road tripping too. You take your prized Jeep in for regular oil changes and tune ups along with making sure that any problems are addressed quickly in order to keep it running smoothly. However, do you take just as much care when it comes to keeping the interior in tip top shape? Most Jeep owners are the kind of people who like to get out and take advantage of everything that Mother Nature has to offer. This will mean heading out for road trips all year long and even braving the elements when the cold and bitter winter weather strikes. While you might have no problem at all when cutting through the snow and ice with your Jeep, you might find it to be a bit difficult trying to keep this mess from coming inside on your feet! When you are looking to protect the carpets on the floor of your Jeep, help is just as easy as laying down a set of slush-style floor mats. These great floor mats are just the thing that you need in order to hold all of the mess in one place without it being able to escape and stain your carpeting. The floor mats are made from durable material with deep grooves that are just right for keeping your carpet clean all year long. You can even order the slush-style floor mats in either dark taupe or dark slate to match your Jeep's interior. Labels: accessories, camp-out, children, dogs, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Tips for Traveling With Pets
This article should be more accurately titled, "Tips for Traveling With Dogs" because so few people would ever remotely consider taking their cats for a road trip. Do visions of clawed up vehicle interiors and a yowling kitty for 1,000 miles spring to mind? So, let's talk dogs. Nearly all dogs are wonderful travelers and they fare much better emotionally by being taken along for the ride instead of left behind where they simply pine and miss you. If you're going to travel with your dog, you're going to need a few things to make his ride safe and comfortable as well as save the interior of your Jeep. First of all, give him a safe place to ride. A nice, comfy spot in the back of your Jeep with a dog bed of his own to lay on will keep him down and safe. A dog that is jumping from seat to seat is a distraction and worse, if you are in an impact, your canine buddy will be projected forward like a bullet and will run the risk of being seriously injured or even killed. If you love him, secure him. You can use his leash and one of the LATCH hooks in the back that a child's car seat can attach to and you'll keep your dog safe and secure for the ride (not to mention really comfy on his dog bed!). Next, pit stops for potty breaks are inevitable when you take your pooch along. Never let your dog out without a leash. It may or may not be the law where you are stopping on your road trip; but also even the most well-trained dogs can become spooked and run in a strange place. Don't let your dog be a lost pet statistic. A simple leash will mean the difference between looking for a dog and letting him out to do his business and then back in the Jeep for the rest of the ride. Also, bring along a scooper and bag and dispose of your dog's waste. True, not everyone is polite enough to do it, but you're not like everyone else either. A portable water and food bowls are a great idea so your dog can stay hydrated and happy along the way! Labels: accessories, dogs, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

If you happen to have a female Jeep lover in your midst, then it may be wise of you to look into a terrific gift option that will help her to show off her passion for the Jeep name. Don't Be One of "Those" Cell Phone Using Drivers
Some people just can't multi-task. It's downright dangerous for many people to drive and attempt to talk on a cell phone. Many people can lose track of what they are doing (driving) because they get so engrossed in the conversation at hand. A recent study by an independent survey company showed that not paying attention when driving due to holding onto a cell phone was in the top ten reasons for automobile accidents in 2005, in areas where cell phone usage has been limited to hands free sets only, the incidence of traffic accidents by individuals struggling to drive and hold a cell phone to their ear has decreased dramatically. Jeep has added a valuable accessory to the Jeep Commander. The UConnect system for cell phones is a voice-activated and completely hands-free. This in-vehicle communications system will fit not only your Jeep Commander but also Jeep Liberty and Jeep Grand Cherokee. It uses a small control pad, microphone and speaker. It is voice activated so you just need to say, "Call Office" and it will dial your office. The reception is crystal clear and you won't have a problem holding a necessary conversation while you are also able to keep your eyes on the road and your attention on driving. The UConnect will automatically mute your radio before receiving or sending a call so you never have to take your hands off the steering wheel. If you have a family where several members have cell phones, the U-Connect can have up to five phones linked to the system so no matter who is driving your Jeep, they can remain safe yet connected on the road. Another Great Jeep Grand Cherokee Accessory the Kids Will Love
You may have come to dread long car trips with your children if you happen to be a parent who is always on the go. It is a really good chance that you have to deal with bickering in the backseat as well as the constant and popular question of 'Are we there yet?'. If you have ever wondered how other parents deal with carting their children around, you may want to ask them where they got the great DVD player that they have mounted from the roof for the rear seats! Your Jeep Grand Cherokee is a fabulous vehicle, without a doubt. However, when you add in the awesome feature of a DVD Rear Seat Video Player, then it becomes a true godsend and a real dream to take on long trips with the kids. Your children can enjoy all of their favorite movies on a crystal clear LCD display that gets mounted right onto the roof. If you don't want to listen to their movies, you can even get wireless headphones for them to use! This means that you can enjoy your music, which they may consider lame, and they can have their entertainment in the back. It is really a win-win situation for everyone involved! What you may not know is that there are even input capabilities for such items as video game systems, camcorders and even CD players. Once you add such a beautiful piece of equipment to your Jeep Grand Cherokee, driving may just become your most favorite thing to do! Labels: accessories, children, jeep, jeeps, travel

Be Sun-Conscious In Your Jeep
You know what many people like best about their Jeep with a soft top? It's like getting two cars in one. When you need cover and protection from the elements, you got it with the soft top and when you want to enjoy a warm, sunny day in your Jeep - you just take off the soft top and enjoy the ride and let the wind blow through your hair. When you're riding with the cover off your Jeep, be sure and take the same precautions for exposure to the sun as you for a trip to the lake or beach. First of all, use sunscreen. The ultraviolet rays of the sun can do silent damage to your skin and the UV rays still come through to your skin even on a cloudy day. Many sunscreen blocks have up to 98% UV ray protection. If you're going to be riding around for a long day in your Jeep - use the maximum sunscreen and apply often. Next wear light colored clothing as it actually reflects back the heat. You'll stay cooler and enjoy the ride more if you're not overheating. Bring along water if you're not going to be in a place where it is easily accessible. Start Planning Roadtrips With the Kids!
Today was Groundhog Day and in true form, the groundhog appeared today and saw his shadow - which portends six more weeks of winter weather. However, it's not too early to start planning road trips and if you have kids, make the ride even more fun by adding some cool accessories to your Jeep Compass. Jeeps are dependable, rugged and will get you from any point A to point B with ease that is unmatched; this is one of the reason Jeep owners are so loyal to the brand. Now Jeep has come out with an entire line of accessories that make the ride sheer luxury. When warm weather arrives, take off for the beach with your family. Another cool idea is to plan a camping trip and you can even get a jeep tent that will hook up to the back of your vehicle and enable your kids to watch a DVD or play a video game after dark. Many parents pack a travel pack for their kids so they don't have to keep stopping for snacks along the way. Pack some sandwiches, low mess fruits such as apples, bananas or pears and veggies such as carrots all make great munching that is also healthy. Pack plenty of water and/or juices for the kids. This will keep their energy up and is a far better idea than trapping yourself in a vehicle with kids that get sugared up candy and cookies and then are bouncing off the walls of the Jeep for most of the road trip and then crashing when you finally arrive. Traveling with kids can be a learning experience for your kids and you can make the getting there part even more enjoyable by planning ahead to keep your kids busy for the ride and that way you won't have to keep answering the ages old question of , "Are we there yet?". Big Safety in Little Wheel Locks
Your Jeep is an investment and you want to protect it. There are some minor things you can add, besides car alarms that will secure your Jeep and keep it safe from prying eyes. Remember, thieves don't like anything that slows them down and will generally move on from a vehicle that will take more than a few seconds to break into. You can eliminate the possibility of either gas theft or vandalism to your gas tank through a locking gas cap. Easy to install, it just snaps and locks into place and you get instant piece of mind. Another consideration is to darken your windows where it is legal - check with your local authorities to find out how much darkening and which windows can be darkened on your Jeep. Some areas will only allow backseat passenger window and back darkened; other areas will only allow a certain level of darkening on personal passenger vehicles. Just by eliminating someone seeing the items that are in your back seats or cargo area if you've been shopping for a day will greatly reduce the possibility that your Jeep will become a break-in crime statistic. There is money in your wheels and thieves know it. Wheel locks with an exclusive key code is another good way to secure your Jeep. This move alone will give you the confidence that you won't come down one more to start your Jeep and your wheels will be missing. Use these tips and make your Jeep all around safer. Remember,no matter where you live - you can be a crime statistic - be proactive and make a few upgrades and you can make your Jeep very unattractive to criminals. Resolve to Get Out More in 2008
Stagnation breeds depression and boredom. If you don't stick to any other New Year's resolution you make, make 2008 the year you vowed to get out of your house more and stay more active. If you can't get away to road trip - explore your own town. You'd be amazed what you can stumbled upon. Your Jeep was made to take the road less traveled and it does it very well. Make some plans to head out and visit one of your favorite destinations or even decide to try to check out a new place that you have always been wanting to see. Check on the Internet for unusual tourist destinations. Who knew the world's largest butter sculpture was only 30 miles away from your home? With the reliability of a Jeep, you will know that you will get there safely and having an incredible time along the way! Perhaps there is a local park that you would like to visit to make your way out to hike on some of the trails. No matter what you decide to do in 2008, everything is an adventure when you are behind the wheel of your Jeep. For traveling with your pet this year, you can always look into getting a great partition for the rear of your Jeep. This makes for a safe and comfortable area that your pet can enjoy when you head out for your adventure. These partitions are made to custom fit your Jeep and are a wonderful addition for any owner who wants to get a chance to enjoy their excursions with their pets! Thinking Ahead to Camping!
Can you remember the last time you took off on a camping trip? Especially when the snows of winter cover the ground and the high temperature of the day is in the teens - it's hard to imagine having a great time in a tent in the woods. However spring and summer will be here very soon and it will indeed be time to take off and enjoy the wilderness, explore the land and enjoy nature on your own terms. Before camping season arrives, make sure that you have the right equipment to be safe and sound on a camping trip. Good camping starts with a good shelter - make sure you have a good tent set up. Jeep has developed a tent that is just right for any camping trip. The Jeep tent is spacious and built to stand up to all kinds of weather conditions. With a great rain fly, you do not have to worry when you see even the slightest chance of a down pour. For the ultimate for any Jeep owner, you can even attach this incredible tent to the back of your Jeep! Yes, you heard right! This makes for extra storage space where you can keep some of your clothing, supplies and more. Perhaps you know a Jeep owner who has been looking to get out and enjoy a little bit of camping. If so, then such a tent is guaranteed to make a welcomed and well-appreciated gift. No matter what the terrain is or what the weather is bringing your way, your Jeep and tent will ensure that you have a wonderful time! Think Ahead to Those Jeep Road Trips in the Spring!
It's hard to remember when you're looking at ice and snow on the ground, but spring isn't that far away and along with thinking about what you want to put in your garden this year, start considering ways to spruce up your Jeep for spring to get the most out of your road trips. One thing most Jeep owners have in common is that they enjoy getting out in the great outdoors as often as possible. A great addition to your Jeep would be a bike rack so you and your favorite traveling buddy can grab your bikes and go explore new areas that even your Jeep can't reach. Add some front air and side air reflectors to make your Jeep even more aerodynamic. You'll notice a lot less "drag" happening when you're driving just with these additions. Tubular bumpers not only add a rugged look to your Jeep, they also do a great job of protecting the grille on your vehicle. Speaking of grilles, if you're tired of looking at the factory issued black grille on your Jeep Wrangler, swap it out for a shiny new chrome grille. A cab cover is another addition that you'll find a lot of use for. The weather-resistant high quality nylon cap in Black or Silver fits snugly over your Jeep's hard or soft top. Silver color is a sun reflective material that reduces interior temperatures and sun fading. Great for sunny climates. Also will fit with top off to help keep interior clean and dry. Elastic loops attach around taillights and mirrors, and includes two integrated cords that attach to the Jeep to secure the cover under the door area. Folds into a small snap closure bag that is included for easy storage. And those are just a few ideas for making your Jeep look even better for 2007. All Weather Baby Carrier
Yes, winter is here in full force, but on those few and far between nice days, you can still bundle up baby and take her for a stroll. Jeep has an outstanding stroller that is perfect for walking your favorite paths in a local forest or just around the block looking at the squirrels, neighborhood kids and other activity happening in your area. Babies get bored just like you do and getting out is fun and very stimulating. The stroller is built for comfort and safety, as all Jeep products are. The Wrangler® All-Weather stroller is a lightweight umbrella stroller that has a handy backrest to keep your little one comfortable. In the winter the mesh folds down to keep cold winds from blowing in from the back and in the summer you can roll it up and it creates a great pillow for relaxing or just napping while the mesh lets the air circulate and keep your baby cool and not overheated in the warmer months. It's also made with all terrain as well as shock absorbing front swivel wheels so your stroller will take the bumps and let your baby just enjoy the ride. The canopy is easily adjustable to keep the sun off your little one and there are even two handy cargo side bags for storage of a juice cup, crackers and small snacks in case you want to make your trek more than just a roll around the block. The next time the weather is clear, bundle up your little one and take her out for a stroll. Talk about what you see and make up songs as you go - your little one will love it! Keeping Your Jeep Interior Looking Fabulous
You keep the outside of your Jeep looking fantastic, want to make it easy to keep the interior looking great too? It's easier than you think and you can do it one of two ways: (1) Detail your interior on a regular basis which takes a little elbow grease and time. (2) Protect your interior from the get-go by using floor mats and cargo liners. If you choose the detailing route, there are three main types of cleaning you will need to do on an occasional basis. 1- Regular Detail Cleaning - This entails using a good cleaner to remove spots and giving your interior the once over. A good foamy cleaner is often one of the best to lift out the dirt without having to use a lot of arm work. 2-Speed Cleaning - This is the mode many people clean their interiors in. You will use this when your boss says you need to pick up an important client in oh, say 30 minutes. You won't have time to do a ton of cleaning, so just clean any major spots and use a self drying no rinse foam cleaner that will freshen your car's interior. 3-Oops Cleaning - Parents know the dreaded , "Uh-ooooohhhhhh" from the back seat means their child just dumped their small drink or perhaps opened a packet of ketchup in the backseat - either way - you now have some cleaning to do. This will usually require using a carpet cleaner to lift and clean the spill or "oops" as soon as possible so it doesn't set in. Or once again, you can forget all that fuss and work and just use slush mats and a good cargo liner made for your Jeep! Labels: accessories, baby, children, dogs, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Push the Tempo in Your Jeep for the New Year!
Love cruising in your Jeep with the stereo on? Really, really love to play music no matter what you're doing? Then you need accessories to increase the performance of the components of your sound system in your Jeep. Got an iPod? You can take any of the tunes, audio books or podcasts you love to listen to and listen to them safely on the road. As you know nearly all states and municipalities have ordinances against driving while wearing headphones; running your iPod through the stereo system of your Jeep is the optimum way to let everyone along for the ride enjoy whatever you've downloaded. RER Navigation Radio is another addition you can make. If you aren't into downloading your tunes and you'd rather just pick them up as you roadtrip on your radio. Make use of the satellite technology that makes up RER. And it's a lot more than just a radio for your Jeep. The RER is an amazing upgrade in technology that combines not only radio, but also navigation, DVD, Bluetooth, USB and satellite radio technologies. You can pick up radio waves from the air or upload your own pictures or music - the best of both worlds! The auxiliary input jack permits passengers to listen to a portable MP3 player through the vehicle's speakers. MyGIG is a Sirius Satellite Radio player. It also includes capability for the UConnect® —the hands-free Bluetooth cellular system .Controlling this system is very easy too. You can choose to use touch navigation which is simply touching the screen to get where you want; or use the Advanced Voice Dialog System that recognizes more than 1,000 words for audio, navigation, entertainment and hands-free mobile phone use. Take your tunes along for the ride and make it safe too with some cool sound enhancers for your Jeep! Labels: accessories, gifts, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

'Tis the Season for Muddy Carpets...
You want your Jeep to stay looking nice and do your best to upkeep the interior as well as the exterior, however there is one thing you can't avoid. Winter slush. When snow meets dirt and it gets on your shoes or boots and then melts in the warmth of your Jeep; you get muddy slush and if you're not careful you'll soon have stained interior carpeting. Keep the slush out of the carpeting of your Jeep, invest in a set of mats and your interior will stay looking new - despite all the winters you take your Jeep through. Is Your Jeep Compass Roadtrip Ready?
The holiday season is here and at no other time of year besides summer vacation are you more likely to spend a lot of hours on the road traveling in your Jeep Compass. Making those hours pass comfortably is a priority and you'll be pleased to know that there are a number of great interior accessories that you can add that make driving your Jeep Compass even more comfortable. Starting around the driver's seat you can add an aluminum pedal kit that will not only look great, the holed design makes it easier for your shoe to grip the pedal and reduces chances of slippage. Additionally you can add a shift knob. If you opted for an automatic transmission, you won't use it nearly as often as someone who enjoys driving a stick, but it's great when the shifter is comfortable when you grab it. If you live in or you're driving to a bright and sunny area of the country, install a reflective sunshade that will keep the sun from making your steering wheel into an object that will feel as though your hands are being cooked when you get in your Jeep after it's been sitting in the sun. The reflective sunshade folds up when not in use and will fit under your seat or other storage area in your Jeep Compass until duty calls. Got kids? Then you know that stains and spills are going to happen and you can keep your original seats looking like new with a pair of seat covers. They fit snugly and are designed exclusively to fit your Jeep Compass. The seat cushions add another layer of fabric and will make the time you spend sitting in your Compass getting to your destination just a little more comfortable. It's easy to make your Jeep Compass more comfortable for road tripping with just a few extra additions for your holiday traveling! Labels: accessories, children, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Take the Hazards Out of Talking on the Cell Phone When Driving
Almost everyone can relate to this scenario: you're driving along down the street and suddenly someone swerves out in front of you - you speed up just a little to give them "the look" and you see they still don't have a clue you're even there - they're too busy trying to balance a tiny cell phone on their ear and have a conversation while driving! No matter how good your driving skills are, anyone can become distracted and become a road hazard if you attempt to hold a cell phone when driving. Common sense will tell you it's never a good idea to talk on the cell phone when you're driving but sometimes it can't be helped. If you work and especially if you're in a position where you have frequent contact with the public, you're going to be in heavy communication as a result of your job. By the very nature of an emergency, they can't be conveniently scheduled and if you have a personal or business crisis happen; someone will need to reach you immediately. Instead of being a hazard on the road, become the good example. If you have a Jeep year model 2002 or better, you can use some great hands free cell phone technology. UConnect is the exclusive voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle communications system for your Jeep and it just uses a small control pad, microphone and speaker. You don't have to take your hands off the wheel of your Jeep to dial or answer you cell phone as it is voice activated. Additionally, the UConnect system will automatically lower or mute your stereo if it is playing so you don't have to fiddle with turning the music down when you're driving. It allows you to store up to 32 names and four numbers per name (128 entries) in the system's phone book, and is flexible enough for an entire family (up to five phones can be linked to the system). With just a little technological addition to your Jeep, it's possible to be a safe and connected driver when you use the hands free technology that allows you to still get important calls but your hands and eyes will be safely on the road. Gift Giving is Easy for Jeep Owners!
Need a great gift for this holiday season for someone that is exceedingly hard to buy for? If they own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, you're in luck and your holiday shopping just got a little it easier. There are some great interior accessories available for the Jeep Grande Cherokee. Here are just a few: Navus Navigation System will prove to be priceless if your gift recipient enjoys road tripping in their Jeep Grand Cherokee. This navigation system will plot the easiest course to take from point to point and has an easy to read screen and also the option of spoken directions. Navus also has dead-reckoning capability that will seamlessly route the user if the satellite signal is temporarily lost. For the person that loves to download and listen to books and music while they are on the road, an IPod Integration Kit will make a fabulous addition to their Jeep Grand Cherokee. The IPod Integration Kit is easy to install and will make taking tunes along for the ride easy. Another option for the person that likes to jam while they drive is a Sirius Satellite Radio System. This commercial free radio has thousands of music and talk radio stations - there is truly something for everyone. Another must have is the Jeep Battery Blanket. If they live where the temperatures are frequently in the freezing range, a battery blanket will warm the battery on their Jeep Grand Cherokee and extend the life of the vehicle's battery. As you know it's not safe to attempt to hold or dial a cell phone while you drive, and in some places it's now illegal; the UConnect Hands Free Cellular System will answer that dilemma with their fully hands free cell phone system. It takes an existing cell phone and once connected to the unit, will allow the user to dial, answer and speak over a crystal clear hands free system. Allowing the driver to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. And those are just a few of the marvelous interior accessories you can add to a Jeep Cherokee and they make wonderful holiday gifts that will be truly used and appreciated. Cold Weather is Coming - Are You Prepared in Case You're Stranded?
It doesn't matter if you have the newest model Wrangler or a Jeep that is years and years old. You can get stranded and while you're waiting for help, during the colder months it's essential that you have items available to keep yourself and your family or traveling companions warm until you can get out of the situation. First of all, put together your own little kit and keep it in your Jeep at all times. Put a few thermal blankets, an LED lantern that runs on batteries not fuel, jumper cables, a basic tool kit, band aids, duct tape, electrical tape, a heavy duty tow strap, road side flairs, a "Help Call Police" sign for your windshield another type of sign that gets a quick response from passing motorists is "Children Inside - Call Police", portable warmers (like hunters and military personnel use) and some people even pick up MRE's (military ready to eat meals) and put them in their Jeep-just in case. The MRE's have a shelf life of years so you can toss a few in your kit and forget about them, additionally many MRE's have a self heating feature so you can warm your insides while you're waiting for help. In the event you are stranded and you are unable to get a signal on your cell phone, you may wind up spending the night in a cold and dark place. Also make sure a crank battery is part of your kit. You can recharge a cellphone, power lights and other items, even if your battery is dead. Just a few turns of the crank and you've generated electricity. If you're traveling with kids, they will feel a lot better if you have a lantern handy and everyone can cuddle up with extra blankets. If there is a chance of traffic on the road you're on - put up the sign in your windshield and you can use a roadside flair to make sure your vehicle is visible to any traffic passing by. You can stay warm by popping open the warmers and given one to each child. The warmers work by creating a chemical reaction that will generate heat for roughly two hours. They are available in most military and outdoor supply stores. When you're stocking your roadside kit - stock enough for an overnight stay for at least 3-4 people so you have enough to keep everyone warm throughout the night if you may be stranded that long. There are a lot of things you can do to prepare for the unexpected. Your Jeep was built to handle the most extreme of conditions, however there may come a situation where are you stranded for a while and it's for those times you need to be prepared so you can get through being stranded in safety and a minimum of stress. A Guide Along the Way That Never Sleeps
One of the best things about owning a Jeep is you're never forced to stay on the paved road and you can exploring and find your own roads to travel. If you love to camp and spend time outdoors you can take advantage of the many 4-wheeling trails made for Jeeps and explore the wilder side of the trail on your own terms. A great way to spend a weekend with your family is to bring along the tailgate attaching tent, your Jeep bicycles and find a remote place in the woods to go camping. Forget the crowded campgrounds and find a place where your family can camp in quiet, peaceful solitude. Many national forests and state managed lands have campsites scattered around many areas of the forest and some are remote enough that unless you have the 4-wheel drive power of a Jeep, you won't be able to make to the campsite. You don't need a lot to go camping. Just your tent, light sources such as a couple of LED lanterns, food that is stored in a couple of coolers, water, personal toiletries and materials for a contained fire to gather around at night. You can spend a fun weekend camping and get away from the hassles of everyday life, the yard work, cell phones, extra-curricular activities and stresses from your work life can all be placed on hold as you enjoy rediscovering spending time with your family. http://store.yahoo.com/yhst-83673118800219/trgunasy.html">A trail guide is a very handy gadget to along as you explore. It can actually show you where you are on the trail and what to expect. Let your Jeep show you what it can really do and the next weekend outing you plan for your family - make it a wilderness adventure that everyone will enjoy and when you get lost, it will be on purpose! The Ultimate Spacesaving Transportation -A Folding Bike!
It happens fast doesn't it? You get a Jeep and you realize you love to take off on road trips, and then you find you are packing way too much stuff that you "need" into your Jeep. If you love to hit the trails and explore in a green fashion in areas you roam, a bicycle is a must. When space has become an option, it's a great idea to invest in a folding bicycle. The Jeep Compass Folding Bicycle is ready to ride in seconds when unfolding and takes up less than eight cubic feet of space when folded and stashed in the cargo compartment of your Jeep. If you wind up flying to your destination instead of driving, this bicycle is just a few inches too large to be used in a standard carry on bag with the updated restrictions most major airlines have, however it can still be checked at luggage with no problem and that way you will have a bicycle to use when you sightsee in another locale. It is even more convenient if you use the optional carry bag for your Jeep bike. This bike has 6 speeds and is made with the same attention to suspension, comfortable ride and durability as other Jeep bicycle designs. Travel Dilemma - Take Your Dog on Vacation or Leave Him Home?
You bought a Jeep because you love to travel. If getting away and even if it is only for a weekend, is at the top of your priority list, your favorite canine companion can suffer from loneliness and even illness. The illness factor can come in when you board your dog because you've stressed your relationship with your next door neighbor because you keep asking him to feed and watch your dog. Dogs in kennels are more prone to depression as well as contracting illnesses from other dogs at the same facility. No matter how well he's treated, your dog is bonded to you and will miss you when you're gone. The solution? Take your dog with you! Your favorite canine buddy will enjoy getting to hit the road with you and two on a trip is even more fun. Jeep Compass has a really handy accessory that allows you to turn the back of your Jeep into a really comfy dog bed . In the cargo area of your Jeep Compass, you can place the dog mat and allow your favorite pooch to travel in style and comfort. The mat is 100% washable and will make the ride very cozy for your dog. Additionally, even the most well behaved of dogs can get skittish when in a new environment, so be sure that you dog is collared and leashed whenever you open your Jeep Compass, this will prevent your dog from getting alarmed and bolting or merely wandering off as even the best trained dogs can lose their bearings and get lost in a strange place. There are also holes drilled in the plastic cargo liner, these are perfect for attaching your dog's leash or harness to and it will allow him to travel safely, if there is a sudden stop he won't be thrown forward into the front seat with you and he will be secured in the back so he won't be a distraction as you are driving. Take your favorite furry friend along for the ride in comfort and safety. Install a Dog Bed Mat in your Jeep Compass and enjoy exploring with your dog. Don't Loose Your Apples!
One thing that you can never really be sure of is how various items will be able to be transported in your Jeep Wrangler. While you are certainly not going to be off-roading each and every second of the day in your ride, there will be times where you don't want to have all of your goods tossed around. This same idea reigns true when you are enjoying various outings such as apple picking with your loved ones. Getting out to check out some of the incredible foliage this fall will surely be on your list of things to do, right along with gathering up a couple of bags of apples from the local orchard. While a Jeep Wrangler is one of the toughest rides that you can get your hands on today, there is often a problem when it comes to keeping your storage area secure. Even the slightest bumps or turns can upset the apple cart, so to speak! The Add-A-Trunk feature is really a must for anyone who wants to keep their stuff in a safe place each and every time they are out and about. Whether it is a few bags of apples or even some valuables that you want out of sight while you are away from the vehicle, this addition is a must. Mounting simply in the rear of your Jeep Wrangler, this extra space can even be locked for added security. With easy installation and quick removal if necessary, this trunk feature can make your already treasured Jeep Wrangler even more precious. Mom, Dad, Are We There Yet?
If you have children then you have already been asked this question more than you could have ever expected for a lifetime. There is just something that is programmed within kids that they just cannot seem to wait for anything. When you are out and about for road trips or even quick runs to the mall or the grocery store with your children in your Jeep Commander, there must be a better way to keep them occupied than having to tell them every two minutes how many miles there are until you all reach your chosen destination. While the thought of a DVD player in the vehicle may not sound like a good idea to some parents, the smart and now very happy parents have already taken the step to have one of these beauties installed in their Jeep Commander. Ready to play their favorite DVDs and keep them occupied for hours and hours while you are out on the road, this is the kind of purchase that you will always be able to justify. You may be wondering how you are going to be able to keep your sanity while having to listen to a children's sing-along movie or even some crazy pre-teen love story over and over again while you are riding. Well, keep in mind that you can actually bypass the sound on this incredible find by having your kids listen to the action through wireless headphones! Could there be anything sweeter than that while you are enjoying each and every outing in your Jeep Commander? Labels: accessories, camp-out, children, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Ways to Entertain the Kids In Your Jeep Grand Cherokee
You don't have to dread long car trips with your kids. If your family is like most, you're "wired" and have DVDs, CDs, computers, laptops, video games and more running throughout the day and your kids don't like to be without their technology. One such solution for keeping the kiddos entertained is found in a rear seat mounting video player. Not only can your kids take along their favorite movies for the trip, but it also plays CDs and will allow for plug ins so they can play their video games on the go too! Once you add this little gem to your Jeep Grand Cherokee, road tripping may just be your most favorite thing to do. Labels: accessories, children, interior, travel

Wear Your Jeep Pride
Okay, admit it - you love your Jeep and you don't care who knows it. Besides driving a jeep, there a number of good ways to show your Jeep pride with some of the top notch licensed Jeep products that are available. If you like road tripping with the top off your Jeep, keep your dome out of the sun with a cool Jeep hat. Another way to show your Jeep pride is with a 100% Cotton Jeep Shirt. These shirts are licensed by Jeep and well made with double stitching at the stress points to ensure good wear. The shirt is screen printed on the front with a Jeep Wrangle with an American flag. This shirt is available in sizes from Medium to 2XL. As you know during the warmer months, white is always a good choice as it reflects heat and a white shirt will keep you cooler than a darker one. During the winter months, it's a good idea to layer your clothing and use a t-shirt such as this as your second layer. The first layer is usually thermal and then a cotton second layer will help hold on your body heat better. If you want to get a great gift for someone that is a Jeep fan, a shirt, hat or watch will make a great accessory to show Jeep pride. So, go on and show your love for your make of vehicle - and you have to admit - Jeep items make conversation starts so you might win a few new Jeep converts during your outings when you're wearing Jeep gear! Keep Your Carpets Nice in Your Jeep
One thing about the summertime, if you own a Jeep - you're on the go. If you're like most vehicle owners, you do your best to keep your mode of transportation running in tip-top shape. Your vehicle gets regular oil changes and tune ups and when there's the occasional problem, you get it fixed before it turns into a larger problem. Since you keep under the hood running so well, you may neglect the interior of your Jeep a little. It's easy to do if you're a busy person, however there are a few items that can keep your Jeep looking as sharp inside as outside and under the hood. First of all, invest in an interior litter bag. This is a must, especially if you have kids. It will help keep those little papers, wrappers and other items that seem to just fall off kids and junk up the inside of your Jeep. Another great addition to your Jeep will be carpet mats. Used in the floor of your Jeep, they will keep slushy, muddy feet (and paws if your favorite canine companion is a frequent passenger) from marring up your interior carpeting and keeping your interior looking nice. Installation is easy - you just lay down a set of slush-style floor mats and your interior carpets will be protected. No matter what time of year, these mats will do a good job of keeping the dirt, grime, dirty snow and mud from getting tracked in and ground into your carpeting. The grooves in the mats hold the slush in place and as the mats get dirty, simply take them out and hose them off and once dry - place back in your jeep. You can even order the slush-style floor mats in either dark taupe or dark slate to match your Jeep's interior. Labels: accessories, children, dogs, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Never Leave Home Without a Tent
It might be true that a Jeep can take you just about anyplace imaginable. However, once you're there, it will make life a whole lot easier if you can at least stay the night. And, having a tent that attaches to the jeep will come in handy if it's monsoon season in the location where you've chose to camp under the stars. The 10' by 10' by ten blue and gray tent is the perfect selection for the camper that wants to set up shop in a hurry. You get some great accessories for this nifty and durable tent. It includes full rain fly, inside pockets, storage bag, and an overhead storage net. And, when you get the urge to zip out on some new adventure, the tent is also designed to stand alone when detached from your jeep. Of course, you may not set out to spend the night under the stars, but it sure won't hurt anything to be fully prepared. It's a great accessory that's easy on the wallet or purse as well. So, if you own a Liberty, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Patriot, or Jeep Compass, the great road trip is just around the corner. And, it pretty much frees the adventurer to plan that road trip most anytime of the year. Like the Jeep itself, the blue and gray tent is durable and dependable when and where it counts. Don't leave home without it. It's just as important as the safety equipment or any other accessories needed for a fun holiday or excursion about the country. Road Tripping This Spring?
You can't plan for an emergency situation to happen, however you can be prepared in the event one does. Getting stranded on the roadside can be frustrating at best and if you have items in your Jeep to help you get out of the situation, it will go a long way towards keeping a weekend jaunt from turning into a disaster. A roadside safety kit is just a smart idea for anyone who travels a lot or even just a little. A good roadside safety kit will include tools for those unexpected emergencies such as gauge jumper cables, a large fleece blanket in case it is cold when the unexpected strikes, leather gloves, multifunction flashlight and 2"x 20'recovery tow strap which will come in very handy if you get stuck in the ice or mud. The Jeep Roadside Safety Kit comes packed in 2 large multi-pocket nylon tool bags and is emblazoned with a Jeep & Trail Rated logo. Other smart additions you can add to your automobile to handle emergencies include a spare tire and make sure it is inflated. A good number of people have spare tires but don't think ahead they may not have access to air when it comes time to use it. A GPS is always a handy device to have if you travel frequently and if you get stranded, it is easy to give your exact location. A can of oil, brake fluid, fix a flat, and an empty gas can are also really valuable items to have along for the ride. You can fit these few extras in a small box in your trunk next to your roadside assistance safety kit and you will truly be ready to handle anything that the unexpected throws your way when you're traveling and get back on the road quickly. Planning a Road Trip With Kids
Depending on how you plan it, traveling with kids can either be a pain or a pleasure. No matter what the ages of your kids are, there are some things you can do to make a long road trip a lot more pleasurable. First of all, make sure everyone is comfortable. Your Jeep already has a comfortable ride, you can further make the kids comfortable by letting them bring along a favorite pillow or blanket. If you have little ones that have trouble sleeping in new places, having an object from home might be the ticket for getting a good night's sleep. Next, make sure they have something to do during the trip. Younger children won't be as engrossed in a book as they might be a DVD. If you haven't considered it before, think about installing a rear seat DVD player. It allows the kids to watch what they like and they can wear headphones to block out the sound from distracting the driver. Snacks are another plus to bring alone. Children get hungry and hungry children get crabby. You can avoid an emotional outburst caused by food if you pack some easy take along snacks for the road. Sandwiches, bags of chips, jerky, soft drinks in cans, bottled water and fruits that aren't messy such as apples and bananas are all good choices to pack along on a road trip. You can make traveling with children a breeze with just a little preparation on your part. Use these tips and make your next road trip an easy one! Labels: children, travel

Traveling? Take Your Dog Along!
If you're planning on an extended trip and you don't want the expense of boarding your dog - take him with you. Your dog can become the best traveling buddy you've ever had, it just takes a little advance preparation on your part. First of all, make sure your dog has had all his shots. Especially if you're traveling you have no way of knowing what you will encounter so make sure he's protected. Another thing to do is make sure your dog has a good collar and leash. Never let him out of your Jeep without a leash on. Even the most well behaved and trained dogs can get spooked and run. The results can be tragic if he runs into an unfamiliar road or gets lost in a forested area. Keeping him on a leash will eliminate this possibility. Bring along his favorite food and a toy or two so he can play while you're driving. For added comfort while traveling, there is a great mat for the back of your Jeep for your pet. Cargo area mat is available for the Jeep Patriot & Compass and is constructed for heavy duty protection to resist punctures and abrasions. Designed for rough or heavy cargo, the skid resistant surface reduces movement when driving. The dog bed is constructed of a heavy material and will give your favorite canine companion a comfortable place to sit or lay down while you drive to your destination. You can avoid the expense of boarding your dog and the possibility of him catching a disease such as kennel cough just by taking him with you. If you haven't taken your dog on vacation with you, give it a try - you'll find your dog can be a wonderful canine traveling companion. Labels: dogs, travel

Updates on Airline Travel
There have been a number of changes for airline travel in recent months. With the threat of liquid bombs being brought on commercial jetliners numerous items that were previously ordinary on flights were declared taboo - on September 26, 2007 another revision was made that relaxed the rules for airline travel. Now, air travelers may now carry liquids, gels and aerosols in their carry-on bag when going through security checkpoints. But there are special requirements that must be met or they can't be carried on. The containers must be full and in a three-ounce size or less. Also, anything you wish to carry on must be in a gallon sized clear zip lock bag. One bag may be used per traveler. Since you can only take one carry on item and one personal bag on each commercial flight; you will need to check more luggage than ever and having a set of luggage that is easy to see makes getting your luggage out of baggage claim turnstile and getting on with your vacation a lot faster. Jeep has a cool line of luggage that will make checking your luggage a lot less of a hassle as they are brightly colored and make it easy to pick up your luggage from the baggage claim turnaround as they really stand out! Also, keep this set in mind if you need a great gift for a frequent traveler. There are 4 pieces in the set and the larger three feature pull up handles and rollers for convenience and the smaller bag is a great carry on. Labels: travel

Exploring The Open Road In Your Jeep
When you are the proud owner of a Jeep, the chances are that you are going to want to head right out and enjoy some of the challenging roads that this country has to offer. Whether you are a driver that likes to drive around to incredible areas for climbing or hiking, or even one who wants to do a little bit of off roading, the great thing about owning a Jeep is that you know that you can depend on your ride. Before each and every road trip no matter where you are planning on going it is always a nice idea to have a checklist to be sure that you are taking along the right gear. You can always get the checklist started by taking a look at your vehicle and making sure that you are ready to go, mechanically speaking. Check your fluids, the amount of air that you have in your tires and of course a quick inspection of your engine will never hurt. Then you can go ahead and make sure that you have some of the other essentials such as a winch kit if you will be hitting mud or maps if you are looking to simply see where the road will be taking you. In addition to that, it is always a great idea to have other items on you such as a cell phone, flashlight, first aid kit and so on. You may even want to look into a nice GPS system if you are going to heading out on such outings on a regular basis. Labels: jeeps, travel
