Time With a Little Something Extra
Want to get someone a great looking clock for a holiday gift but you want it to be a little more than just a clock? Consider the cool Jeep-Chrysler Hemi Weather Wall Clock. It has a sleek gray design and is emblazoned with the official Hemi Logo at the 9 o'clock mark. A wall clock makes a great gift because it's not a large space commitment on a wall and the gray design of this piece will let it meld seamlessly into almost any interior design. This is also great for a garage area clock, no more working through dinner time or the start of a favorite movie when you get involved in those weekend warrior projects! The black hour and minute hands make this clock easy to read from a distance or at a quick glance. The red second hand is a sweep movement and will keep the time accurately for years to come. And there's something special about this clock. There is the addition of humidity and temperature gauges. It's easy to learn to predict the weather basics if you watch the gauges. Also, knowing the humidity levels can be useful if you engage in activities such as auto detailing, painting or other types of outdoor activities that can be slowed down by high humidity. Give the car lover on your holiday list a gift they use all year around and really enjoy, give them the gift of a cool Hemi wall clock! Labels: accessories, children, gifts, interior, jeep, jeeps

Is Your Jeep Compass Roadtrip Ready?
The holiday season is here and at no other time of year besides summer vacation are you more likely to spend a lot of hours on the road traveling in your Jeep Compass. Making those hours pass comfortably is a priority and you'll be pleased to know that there are a number of great interior accessories that you can add that make driving your Jeep Compass even more comfortable. Starting around the driver's seat you can add an aluminum pedal kit that will not only look great, the holed design makes it easier for your shoe to grip the pedal and reduces chances of slippage. Additionally you can add a shift knob. If you opted for an automatic transmission, you won't use it nearly as often as someone who enjoys driving a stick, but it's great when the shifter is comfortable when you grab it. If you live in or you're driving to a bright and sunny area of the country, install a reflective sunshade that will keep the sun from making your steering wheel into an object that will feel as though your hands are being cooked when you get in your Jeep after it's been sitting in the sun. The reflective sunshade folds up when not in use and will fit under your seat or other storage area in your Jeep Compass until duty calls. Got kids? Then you know that stains and spills are going to happen and you can keep your original seats looking like new with a pair of seat covers. They fit snugly and are designed exclusively to fit your Jeep Compass. The seat cushions add another layer of fabric and will make the time you spend sitting in your Compass getting to your destination just a little more comfortable. It's easy to make your Jeep Compass more comfortable for road tripping with just a few extra additions for your holiday traveling! Labels: accessories, children, interior, jeep, jeeps, travel

Buying a Gift for a Teen or Tween
It can be hard to find gifts for the Tween and Teen crowd. If you have someone in the 11-12 age group or age 13 and above - you have been racking your brain trying to come up with a gift idea they will really use and appreciate. This is the age that kids start to grow out of only wanting toys and clothing and personal items to help them look their best are often appreciated. Vanity mirrors for girls and gift certificates to "cool" clothing stores are often considered hot items that these age groups enjoy. A gift certificate for music downloads will also be very appreciated. Another gift that will get a big "Thank you" is a watch. A watch that isn't emblazoned with a cartoon character or loud rainbow colors that smacks of a "child's" watch will be very much appreciated. Go for a cool retro-look and you will have a gift that the Teen or Tween on your holiday list will adore. The Women's Retro 3 watch is small and unassuming, yet is durable and sturdy and will last for years to come. Some of the special features include a stainless steel case for added strength and a comfortable leather band. It has the functions of hours, minutes and seconds and the date window is located at 3 o'clock. The ultra-luminescent hands/numbers make this watch easy to read even in low lighting and it comes with a battery with a 3-year life. Additionally, if your Tween or Teen is a little forgetful, it's okay if this watch is worn when taking a shower or she jumps in the pool without thinking - it's water resistant to 5 atmospheres. Get that special young person a great gift they'll really enjoy all year round this year - make it a watch! Labels: accessories, children, gifts, watch

Take the Hazards Out of Talking on the Cell Phone When Driving
Almost everyone can relate to this scenario: you're driving along down the street and suddenly someone swerves out in front of you - you speed up just a little to give them "the look" and you see they still don't have a clue you're even there - they're too busy trying to balance a tiny cell phone on their ear and have a conversation while driving! No matter how good your driving skills are, anyone can become distracted and become a road hazard if you attempt to hold a cell phone when driving. Common sense will tell you it's never a good idea to talk on the cell phone when you're driving but sometimes it can't be helped. If you work and especially if you're in a position where you have frequent contact with the public, you're going to be in heavy communication as a result of your job. By the very nature of an emergency, they can't be conveniently scheduled and if you have a personal or business crisis happen; someone will need to reach you immediately. Instead of being a hazard on the road, become the good example. If you have a Jeep year model 2002 or better, you can use some great hands free cell phone technology. UConnect is the exclusive voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle communications system for your Jeep and it just uses a small control pad, microphone and speaker. You don't have to take your hands off the wheel of your Jeep to dial or answer you cell phone as it is voice activated. Additionally, the UConnect system will automatically lower or mute your stereo if it is playing so you don't have to fiddle with turning the music down when you're driving. It allows you to store up to 32 names and four numbers per name (128 entries) in the system's phone book, and is flexible enough for an entire family (up to five phones can be linked to the system). With just a little technological addition to your Jeep, it's possible to be a safe and connected driver when you use the hands free technology that allows you to still get important calls but your hands and eyes will be safely on the road. Little Tikes Love Jeep Trikes
It can be frustrating to be a toddler. Too big for the riding toys from a year ago and still just too small to ride a bicycle with the bigger kids. If you have a little one this is too big for a little push-along riding toy and too little for a bicycle, there is a happy solution that will keep your kiddo smiling all year round; the Jeep Jerry Can Trike is a perfect fit for kids that want a riding toy but aren't big enough for a bicycle just yet. Riding a tricycle is easy and requires very little balance. If your little one can sit up in a chair without toppling out, they have all the balance they need to operate a tricycle. This tricycle also has some fun features that your child will love. The rear mounted jerry can opens for storage and will hold all the "treasures" your little one finds outside. The saddle seat on this tricycle is very comfortable and the handles have easy grip so little hands don't slip off. The knobby wheels provide for extra traction if your child encounters loose gravel or sand when they are out riding and the rubberized pedals make it easy to keep their feet on. Also, this tricycle has a replica JeepĀ® grille and fenders and also has the fun edition of built in electronic sounds and lights. Even a tricycle should only operated under supervision, make sure your child has someone watching them whenever they are riding. Your little one may not be old enough to roll with the big kids, but they can certainly sound and look like they are on a Jeep Jerry Can Trike! Labels: baby, children, outdoors

Gift Giving is Easy for Jeep Owners!
Need a great gift for this holiday season for someone that is exceedingly hard to buy for? If they own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, you're in luck and your holiday shopping just got a little it easier. There are some great interior accessories available for the Jeep Grande Cherokee. Here are just a few: Navus Navigation System will prove to be priceless if your gift recipient enjoys road tripping in their Jeep Grand Cherokee. This navigation system will plot the easiest course to take from point to point and has an easy to read screen and also the option of spoken directions. Navus also has dead-reckoning capability that will seamlessly route the user if the satellite signal is temporarily lost. For the person that loves to download and listen to books and music while they are on the road, an IPod Integration Kit will make a fabulous addition to their Jeep Grand Cherokee. The IPod Integration Kit is easy to install and will make taking tunes along for the ride easy. Another option for the person that likes to jam while they drive is a Sirius Satellite Radio System. This commercial free radio has thousands of music and talk radio stations - there is truly something for everyone. Another must have is the Jeep Battery Blanket. If they live where the temperatures are frequently in the freezing range, a battery blanket will warm the battery on their Jeep Grand Cherokee and extend the life of the vehicle's battery. As you know it's not safe to attempt to hold or dial a cell phone while you drive, and in some places it's now illegal; the UConnect Hands Free Cellular System will answer that dilemma with their fully hands free cell phone system. It takes an existing cell phone and once connected to the unit, will allow the user to dial, answer and speak over a crystal clear hands free system. Allowing the driver to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. And those are just a few of the marvelous interior accessories you can add to a Jeep Cherokee and they make wonderful holiday gifts that will be truly used and appreciated. Plan a Romantic Getaway - Yes YOU!
The holiday season is about to swing into high gear soon and you're not going to feel like you have much time for yourself much less your partner - before that happens - take the time for a romantic getaway. Plan on packing the kids off to your parent's house for the weekend and start putting together a fun getaway for just the two of you. Establish some ground rules for the two of you. No discussions of anything to do with work, no worrying about what the kids are doing, cell phones can go along but they are to be in the "silent" mode until you're back home. That way you can see if anyone needs to reach you from back home and ignore any calls from the office. Next, plan where you're going. It's best if you get out of the house. It may seem like a vacation just having the house to yourselves again with the kids gone, but it's also important to get away yourselves and enjoy a new environment. This time of year, you can usually find good deals on vacation rentals as the snowbird traveling season hasn't heated up in most areas and it's considered a "down" time for most vacation rentals. Get a cozy cabin and you can both curl up by the fire at night. You can make this even better by bringing some of your favorite bottles of wine, some light snacks such as a loaf of crusty bread, crackers and cheese, just put them in a cooler in case there isn't a working fridge when you get to the cabin. Candles can set a wonderful mood for romance or you can choose to use hurricane lanterns and turn them down to a cozy light level. Pack away all that you need in an easy to carry bag and keep your trip as light as possible. Just getting back to the basics can breathe new life into a relationship that was feeling a little stale due to the fact you and your sweetheart simply never get a moment of time for yourselves. Don't talk about anything too deep, forget you have jobs and leave your stress factors at home; just enjoy the time you're spending together and you'll find you will reclaim those feelings of love you thought you lost. This is a great way to reclaim your relationship. It's easy to lose touch but a great weekend together can definitely stoke the fires to burn strong again. Start planning your getaway today! Cold Weather is Coming - Are You Prepared in Case You're Stranded?
It doesn't matter if you have the newest model Wrangler or a Jeep that is years and years old. You can get stranded and while you're waiting for help, during the colder months it's essential that you have items available to keep yourself and your family or traveling companions warm until you can get out of the situation. First of all, put together your own little kit and keep it in your Jeep at all times. Put a few thermal blankets, an LED lantern that runs on batteries not fuel, jumper cables, a basic tool kit, band aids, duct tape, electrical tape, a heavy duty tow strap, road side flairs, a "Help Call Police" sign for your windshield another type of sign that gets a quick response from passing motorists is "Children Inside - Call Police", portable warmers (like hunters and military personnel use) and some people even pick up MRE's (military ready to eat meals) and put them in their Jeep-just in case. The MRE's have a shelf life of years so you can toss a few in your kit and forget about them, additionally many MRE's have a self heating feature so you can warm your insides while you're waiting for help. In the event you are stranded and you are unable to get a signal on your cell phone, you may wind up spending the night in a cold and dark place. Also make sure a crank battery is part of your kit. You can recharge a cellphone, power lights and other items, even if your battery is dead. Just a few turns of the crank and you've generated electricity. If you're traveling with kids, they will feel a lot better if you have a lantern handy and everyone can cuddle up with extra blankets. If there is a chance of traffic on the road you're on - put up the sign in your windshield and you can use a roadside flair to make sure your vehicle is visible to any traffic passing by. You can stay warm by popping open the warmers and given one to each child. The warmers work by creating a chemical reaction that will generate heat for roughly two hours. They are available in most military and outdoor supply stores. When you're stocking your roadside kit - stock enough for an overnight stay for at least 3-4 people so you have enough to keep everyone warm throughout the night if you may be stranded that long. There are a lot of things you can do to prepare for the unexpected. Your Jeep was built to handle the most extreme of conditions, however there may come a situation where are you stranded for a while and it's for those times you need to be prepared so you can get through being stranded in safety and a minimum of stress.
