Time for the Great Outdoors at Valentines

If you've been searching high and low for that great last minute Valentine's gift and you are running out of ideas, here's a great one - a Jeep watch is the perfect watch for any Valentine that loves the great outdoors.

The Jeep name is known for its quality, durability and dependability. Now they have taken that same fine attention to detail that rings true in other Jeep products from strollers to luggage to vehicles and turned out a superior wrist watch.

The Outdoor Collection of Jeep watches is made to last and comes in styles that are fabulous for both men and women. Whether your Valentine would prefer a black-faced watch or a white-faced watch, it's available. These watches also have special features that include standard time with hours, minutes, seconds and date. The ultra-luminescent hands make it easy to read the dials and hands on this watch, even in low lighting conditions. The carbon fiber dial is part of the sturdy construction that ensures a long life of service for this wrist watch. It has a three year battery life and this wrist watch is water resistant to five atmospheres of pressure.

A great way to give this gift would be if your Valentine is the outdoorsy type, take them on a weekend getaway such as a romantic cabin for two or a camping trip by the beach around Valentine's and give them a watch that will truly keep up with their active lifestyle!

Spruce Up Your Jeep for Spring 2007

Spring isn't that far away and along with thinking about what you want to put in your garden this year, start considering ways to spruce up your Jeep for spring.

If you enjoy getting out in the great outdoors as often as you can, consider adding a bike rack on your jeep so you and your favorite buddy can grab your bikes and go explore new areas that only your Jeep can get you too. You just might find a new favorite riding trail.

Add some front air and side air reflectors to make your Jeep even more aerodynamic. You'll notice a lot less "drag" happening when you're driving just with these additions. Tubular bumpers not only add a rugged look to your Jeep, they also do a great job of protecting the grille on your vehicle. Speaking of grilles, if you're tired of looking at the factory issued black grille on your Jeep Wrangler, swap it out for a shiny new chrome grille.

A cab cover is another addition that you'll find a lot of use for. The weather-resistant high quality nylon cap in Black or Silver fits snugly over your Jeep's hard or soft top. Silver color is a sun reflective material that reduces interior temperatures and sun fading. Great for sunny climates. Also will fit with top off to help keep interior clean and dry. Elastic loops attach around taillights and mirrors, and includes two integrated cords that attach to the Jeep to secure the cover under the door area. Folds into a small snap closure bag that is included for easy storage.

And those are just a few ideas for making your Jeep look even better for 2007.

Skiing and Biking Made Easy

Jeeps were made for people who love the great outdoors. While your Jeep is one comfortable ride, it has some wonderful features that make it ideal for transporting your biking and skiing equipment.

If you enjoy riding your bike on the trails in a local forest area or exploring remote areas on your own, your Jeep will get your further in than most vehicles. There is also a handy rack that you can attach to your back bumper that is great for carrying your spare or two bikes so you can go cycling with a friend.

Should skiing be the sport you enjoy the most, your Jeep has a safe way to carry your skis along for the ride. The Spare Tire-Mount Ski Carrier is adaptable for both the Jeep Liberty and Wrangler. This carrier will hold up to four pairs of skis. If you're worried about your skis getting dinged during the ride, this carrier has rubber padding to protect the surfaces of your skis. It mounts easily to the exterior full size spare tire carrier and if you're worried that your skis might get stolen - that has been thought of in the design of this carrier as well. This ski carrier can be locked to keep your skis secure during transport.

If you enjoy sports such as skiing and bicycling, you can now easily enjoy your favorite sport with a friend and bring both your bikes or two sets of skis to your next weekend of outdoor fun.

Are You SAD? Use Your Jeep!

If you live in the mid-to-upper part of the United States and you've been feeling lethargic, depressed, craving large amounts of carbohydrates, and having a problem leaving your home, you have some of the many symptoms of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

This is a type of winter depression that affects an estimated half a million people every Winter between September and April, in particular during December, January and February. It was once called the "Holiday Blues" and thought to stem from the stress and non-stop activity that occurs during the holiday season. However, it know known to be a true biochemical imbalance in the brain (at the hypothalamus) due to the shortening of daylight hours and the lack of exposure to sunlight in winter.

Once you have suffered a cycle of SAD you will quickly recognize the symptoms coming on. You can break the cycle of SAD by exposing yourself to natural light or investing in a spectrum light that uses the same white light intensity as sunlight. Another way to break the cycle is grab a friend and take a road trip in your Jeep and go day hike in a local forest area. A few hours exposure to natural light will do you a world of good towards ridding yourself of your SAD symptoms.

If you feel that you may be suffering from sad, talk to a friend or a professional and set up a support network for yourself of people that will not allow you to sit in the house in the dark. You need people that will poke and prod you to get out of the house and get sunlight; once you do, you'll find you days of suffering from SAD will be behind you.

Get Your Kids Outdoors

Your kids may have gotten a new Nintendo Wii or a Sony Playstation for the holidays; a subscription to the World of Warcraft. Or they may have gotten numerous other toys that are basically meant to be played indoors.

While entertainment such as this promotes good hand-eye coordination and helps develop the capacity for thinking ahead; unfortunately, this lack of physical exercise also promotes childhood obesity and early onset diabetes. One way to make sure your children don't become a statistic for either of these problems is to get them outside.

Riding a bicycle or if they are very young -a tricycle. Playing catch with your kids or loading up your Jeep and going away for a long, fun weekend of camping away from the video games and Internet.

Both your children and yourself have busy schedules and between work, school and other activities try to get everyone's schedule cleared for one afternoon a week together minimum. Do something fun with your kids such as outings like a trip to the zoo or the local museum. Many people don't take advantage of the resources in their own communities for fun family outings.

Get your kids outdoors and even in the colder weather there's always a fun activity to be found. Walking in the woods, an impromptu snowball fight and other fun and free activities will go a long way to promoting good health and a great relationship with your children.
