Start Planning Roadtrips With the Kids!

Today was Groundhog Day and in true form, the groundhog appeared today and saw his shadow - which portends six more weeks of winter weather. However, it's not too early to start planning road trips and if you have kids, make the ride even more fun by adding some cool accessories to your Jeep Compass.

Jeeps are dependable, rugged and will get you from any point A to point B with ease that is unmatched; this is one of the reason Jeep owners are so loyal to the brand. Now Jeep has come out with an entire line of accessories that make the ride sheer luxury.

When warm weather arrives, take off for the beach with your family. Another cool idea is to plan a camping trip and you can even get a jeep tent that will hook up to the back of your vehicle and enable your kids to watch a DVD or play a video game after dark.

Many parents pack a travel pack for their kids so they don't have to keep stopping for snacks along the way. Pack some sandwiches, low mess fruits such as apples, bananas or pears and veggies such as carrots all make great munching that is also healthy. Pack plenty of water and/or juices for the kids. This will keep their energy up and is a far better idea than trapping yourself in a vehicle with kids that get sugared up candy and cookies and then are bouncing off the walls of the Jeep for most of the road trip and then crashing when you finally arrive.

Traveling with kids can be a learning experience for your kids and you can make the getting there part even more enjoyable by planning ahead to keep your kids busy for the ride and that way you won't have to keep answering the ages old question of , "Are we there yet?".
