Planning for Off-Road Fun

If you're a jeep lover, or thinking about making the switch, you'll be ecstatic over all the parts and accessories you'll find at Just For Jeeps. You're familiar with the names-Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Compass, Patriot, and Commander. And, when it comes to organized vehicle clubs, Jeep takes the prize hands down. There's a lot of fun in off road events for both fans and jeep owners, and this is one of the biggest benefits in having a 4x4.

It's best to be prepared before you take your jeep off road, and that means having a checklist prepared-no matter where you're headed or how long you're planning on being gone. The first thing is to check is your vehicle's condition. Listen for any strange sounds that might come from the axle and differential areas. Check belts, hoses, brake lights, cooling and heating systems, the thermostat, transmission, engine, carburetor and so on. In short, check the entire vehicle.

Never leave home without a toolbox and a working set of tools. Things happen when you least expect them to, and the right tool can literally be a lifesaver when you need it. Taking along safety gear should be a top priority. If you or another person are injured in a remote area, having safety gear on the spot can prevent the situation from getting a lot worse. Your safety gear should also include first aid kit items also.

Make sure you balance out the load of things you pack. Extra weight can cause a lot of stress on car components, and poor balance conditions. Remember, be safe-you're out and about to have fun.
