Putting Together a Winter Emergency Kit
If you haven't already done this, take the time to put together a emergency safety kit for colder months ahead. It is a good idea to have any time of the year but especially in the colder months in case you have a break down and need items to keep warm until help arrives.
Jeep has a great Roadside Safety Kits that includes much needed items such as 6 Gauge jumper cables, large fleece blanket, leather gloves, multifunction flashlight and 2"x 20' recovery tow strap. It is packed in a large multi-pocket bag. However, you can add to this to fit the needs of your individual family. If you have children, add extra blankets to your emergency roadside kit. If you have young children, a diaper bag with jars of baby food and a can of formula isn't a bad idea either.
You can have a very dependable source of light by using an
LED bulb lantern that will last up to 10,000 hours. It also features a handy remote control and a carry handle that makes it very portable and there is a dimmer switch to adjust for brightness. It only requires four size D batteries and you will have a very dependable light that is water and impact resistant.
